Last nite we finished our 15 week Perspectives course at church. I am so glad Mike and I got to participate in the class...I can't believe it is over. Although we helped with the class several times at Bent Tree, taking it over here seemed like we were hearing so much of it for the first time. I loved seeing how truth transcends all cultural barriers...and last nite as we heard the different students share what they had learned...we knew that the 15 weeks and grading quiz after quiz had been well worth it. We also made some wonderful friends thru it. Although it will be nice to have our Tues. evenings free I think we will miss it, too.
At the park on Monday we found out at the Abu Dhabi is more like Texas than we thought. Yep! My friend Krista had her first taste of Fire Ants!!! Once the burning calmed down I was able to tell several fire ant stories...like the time when my nephew was just a toddler and stepped in them... Yes, lots of fun stories.
Last Saturday we had some guests for dinner..he is from Washington state and she is from Malaysia. They have two beautiful girls. Our church does a week of Adventures in Fellowship every fall and spring. You may remember my blog about our visit last fall with a sweet Filipina woman who cooked for us. Well, we served tacos, refried beans, and a mexican casserole. I think a good time was had by all.
Things are going well with English Club. We are going to learn to dance the Salsa next week. I cannot wait. The kids are doing well. Anxious to head to the States to see their friends...and Robert is excited cuz next week he turns 10!!!
Love ya!!
