Cinco de Mayo..Abu Dhabi style

Robert's birthday was yesterday. Number 10. I put a picture on the fridge...of the week we brought him home from the hospital. The picture we sent out in the baby announcements. Mike and I stood there and smiled...Russell was 10 when Robert came home. The kids were so little. Another lifetime ago. :) We went to the park and took cupcakes. (Park days are fast coming to a close...) and last nite the Kenneys joined us at the new Cantina Laredo for Tex-Mex. It was very good!! Yay!! Robert chose not to have a big party. Mike is taking the kids to Wild Wadi Water Park in Dubai next Sat., instead of the party deal....It will be Robert, Sallie and Billy. Robert is beside himself happy with his Nintendo DS...a replacement from the one he got for the move here that was lost in the airport. Ugh. :) He cried when he opened the games from Wil Anderson. Not over the gift either. He misses his friends. We are so thankful for Billy and Ben here in Abu Dhabi.

Yesterday was English club...we learned to Salsa at Maria's house. It was so fun. My sweet friends also presented me with a beautiful gold necklace as a thank you for getting all this started. I was surprised and teared up...They are the sweetest friends. It was very special. Thurs. we are all going shopping together to buy baby clothes for our building guard(Nassar)..He is returning to India for 6 months to see the son he has never seen...The baby is about 13 months old. This is the story of just about eveyone you meet here in any of the laborer positions...My lady who cuts my hair had not seen her children for two years. They just send the money home. Heartwrenching. Anyway, we are giving him money and sending clothes home with him. It's a surprise and we are excited.
So that was our Cinco de Mayo...Actually quite appropriate...Salsa, and Cantina Laredo. :) It was a fun day. And now my baby is 10....sigh. Wow.
