So I'm trying to play around with the blog and figure out new things...Not sure if I figured anything out yet...but...:) oh well... The weather is cooling off enough now that we can go to the beach and not fry. Last Saturday I texted my friends and said to join us there...It was such a nice afternoon. Here are a couple of pictures...Billy, Robert and Ben..the Three Musketeers deep in conversation and I have no idea about what. :)
and here are Mike, Sallie and Kyra Kenney contemplating the blue waters of the Arabian Gulf.
For English Club Junko took us to a great Japanese restaurant here in Abu Dhabi and included a lesson on using chopsticks.... I think she should be a model. As beautiful on the inside as on the outside.
Here Sallie and Stephanie Page attempt synchronized diving at the pool.
It is very nice that the weather is cooling off. We don't feel so tied to the airconditioning now.
The kids are doing well in school. Ryan is in full college search mode. He has the SAT's on Saturday. Sallie and Robert are doing well in the K12 Online School..learning lots. as am I. :)
Mike and I continue to be refined in the furnace, so to speak. Learning, leaning, ...stuggling and surrendering again. Not fun, but certainly biblical. :) We appreciate your prayers...and recognize as well that many of you are going thru so much as well. And we are praying.
And we still find things to laugh about...like our friend's story last week about his meeting with the Department of Transportation for Abu Dhabi....There was no parking. :) or the fact that our windows have not been washed since last MAY and when we asked about it we were told "2 months more...insh'allah..." UGH. By then we will need a firetruck hose to clean the stuff off...oh wait...that won't work...My friend told me that she watched a fire in the building next to hers a couple of months ago and they were pointing the hose in the wrong direction! Finally a Brit came out and showed them how to use the rescue bucket and the equipment. Thank the Lord no one died...(and that we live on the first floor) but as for my windows.....hmmmm....:)
