For many of you your Mother's Day is still going on. It's Monday over here so I can officially say my first Mother's Day is completely finished. I think most of the day I was having a pity party and although everyone was invited no one came....just me...Sigh. Because Sunday is a work/school day it was business as usual. The pity party was mostly because I kept thinking of all my friends back in the States having brunch or whatever and here we were...no big deal. So pretty depressing, huh? Well, my sweet kids came thru for me. Bless their hearts. Russell called Sat. nite his time so I had his phone call on Sunday morning and then yesterday afternoon Ryan, Sallie and Robert made me a fancy computerized Mother's Day Card video which I will treasure forever. Ryan downloaded the most recent episodes of Lost, Mike ordered pizza, and we just hung out together.
On top of that, I had a surprise phone call. My dear friend, Ramon, from Cuba called us. He moved to Dallas last week and wanted to catch up with us. He was a friend who translated for all but one of my trips to Cuba and we had some great conversations over the years. I could not believe it was him. Course I had to explain that he was talking to me from halfway around the world, but we are all planning to get together this summer when we are in the States. He also translated for one of Mike's trips so it will be a great reunion when we get back. So great to hear his voice and catch up.
So, I had a nice Mother's Day..Hope all my mom friends have had a good one as well. I do miss everyone, but it was a nice day.
